BIOGRAPHY


Dylan Sheridan is an Australian composer recently residing in the USA. He began his formal studies in composition at the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music in Australia, where his teachers included Douglas Knehans, Don Kay and Constantine Koukias. In 2011 he completed his Master’s degree at the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, USA, where he studied with Joel Hoffman and Michael Fiday. Also a visual artist, Dylan is interested in expanding the theatrical nature of concert music through the use of image, lighting, musical sculpture and unconventional use of space. He has been commissioned and performed in Australia, the USA and Europe by groups and individuals including Cafe MoMus Contemporary Music Ensemble, the Hobart Wind Symphony and the Hobart Chamber Orchestra, and at festivals such as Music X (Switzerland).
