All Day Breakfast
The most important meal of the day, prepared at a distance. With metal poles and through holes in a wall, in fact. All Day Breakfast grew from three studies on physical distancing that Terrapin artistic director Sam Routledge and Dylan Sheridan created during lockdown 2020. Together they made orange juice, opened a can of baked beans and lit candles on a birthday cake, all over a precise 1.5 metres distance. Slow, meticulous and sometimes painful, All Day Breakfast illustrates the frustrations of a life lived at 1.5 metres.
In 2020, All Day Breakfast’s orange juice study was curated into the ‘Unprecedented Times’ exhibition at Kunsthaus Bregenz, Austria, as part of William Kentridge’s ‘29 Long Minutes’.
